Friday March 15th and Saturday March 16th of 2024, Labor Office of the Island Government in cooperation with the Oranje Fonds will bring to you, the tenth edition of STATIA DOET, the largest volunteer event on St. Eustatius.

Labor Office of the Island Government and the Oranje Fonds are proud to bring you the tenth edition of STATIA DOET on March 15th & 16th, 2024. Under the names NL doet (The Netherlands), ARUBA DOET (Aruba), BON DOET (Bonaire), CURA DOET (Curaçao), STATIA DOET (St. Eustatius) and SXM DOET (Sint Maarten), these initiatives highlight volunteering and volunteers while encouraging every one to roll up their sleeves for (part of) a day. It does everybody good!

Heart and Soul

Volunteers are the heart and soul of community organizations and STATIA DOET and the Oranje Fonds are emphasizing the importance for our community to have actively engaged citizens helping to make a difference as one whole unit. What’s more is that STATIA DOET is on a mission to help improve the general idea of volunteering and community service by showing how fun and creative it can really be.

Record numbers

STATIA DOET reigned in more than 300 volunteers were active at 43 jobs in 2020! We are aiming for even higher numbers this year, so register your project or sign up as a volunteer.

The Oranje Fonds & Labor Office of the Island Government

The Oranje Fonds is the biggest national fund in the arena of social well-being and showcases the best the Kingdom has to offer. Around €30 million euros are spent each year supporting organizations and initiatives that strengthen social cohesion in The Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. Labor Office of the Island Government is non-profit organization that supports the financing of programs and projects of various organizations via their crowd-funding platform. LOIG also encourages volunteerism, “volun-tourism”, and philanthropy in the St. Eustatius community.

General information

In 2020, thirty (30) social organizations participated using more than 311 volunteers to complete 43 different projects. The first nine editions of STATIA DOET were very successful and this time around we are hard at work to make this tenth edition a roaring success.

STATIA DOET will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 15 & 16, 2023. Along with NL doet, BON DOET, CURA DOET, SXM DOET and ARUBA DOET this community-driven initiative is the largest of its kind in the entire Kingdom.

Does your company support the largest volunteer event on St. Eustatius?

In order to execute all of the projects on March 15th and 16th the participating organizations need a lot of resources. This may include materials such as paint, wood and gloves, but also light drinks and snacks to provide to the volunteers.
